EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM
At EVPESC, we offer an early childhood program for Kindergarten and Pre-Primary aged students, created to support their journey towards school readiness. Aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and the Western Australian Curriculum, including the Abilities Based Learning Education Support Western Australia, our curriculum is developed collaboratively with parents, guardians, and therapists supported by whole school programs to ensure it meets each child’s unique needs and fosters their individual development. This alignment ensures effective teaching, learning, and assessment across subjects in the Early Years such as English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, The Arts, Health and Physical Education. While focusing on key aspects of the Australian Curriculum, our approach also emphasises the importance of self-management, social skills, and protective behaviours.
Our Early Years program is highly supportive and stimulating. It is backed by a team of specialist teachers, staff, and therapy providers within our dedicated learning centre. Our approach emphasises play-based learning, creating engaging and supportive environments where children can explore, experiment, and grow. Our classroom environment promotes integration, friendship and collaboration allowing your child to learn alongside their peers.

MATHEMATICS
At EVPESC, we believe in implementing a carefully considered Math curriculum that is progressive and sequential. Learning experiences presents opportunities for balance, breadth, and ambition, leading towards key end points dependent on the student’s IEP. Ensuring that learning is firmly embedded within long term memory at each stage ensures explicit scaffolding on which learning can extend and expand in a given skill or knowledge strand, Number & Algebra, Measurement, or Statistics. At our Centre Mathematics is taught through hands-on, interactive learning experiences that use manipulatives and materials to provide solid foundations for numeracy growth. Although our primary focus is on the Number & Algebra strand, we incorporate other mathematical strands into our regular lessons to guarantee all our students have an early exposure to better equip them as they move through school.
Students’ number skills are evaluated twice a year using a specifically designed test that is in line with the Australian Curriculum. The outcomes of these assessments serve as a roadmap for our future goal-setting and planning, enabling us to customise our teaching methods to each student’s unique requirements and foster their continuous development within Mathematics.
HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES (HASS)
At EVPESC, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) is taught once a week. During Semester 1, we have a focus on History and explore a range of different content from the curriculum, including covering topics such as family, celebrations, old and new and more. Semester 2 moves into Geography, where the focuses are on significant places to us, global geography, weather, and more. Learning goals for our students will come from a mixture of content knowledge from addressing the topics previously listed, and through setting goals to learn about the Humanities and Social Sciences skills, which refer to higher order thinking skills such as questioning, researching, analysing, evaluating, communicating, and reflecting. In HASS, there is a strong emphasis on exploring ways of learning and knowing from different cultures, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, so we prioritise integrating this knowledge into our teaching and learning practices in a culturally responsive way, recognising the importance of Aboriginal pedagogy through the incorporation of the 8 Ways of Learning Framework into all our planning at EVPESC.

HEALTH
At EVPESC, we pride ourselves on our inclusive and targeted approach to health education, tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Our focus extends beyond academics to encompass essential life skills, including teaching Protective Behaviours, physical health and hygiene, and mental health and wellbeing topics.
We utilize the Zones of Regulation framework to help students understand and manage their emotions effectively. By fostering positive partnerships and relationships, we create a safe and supportive environment where students can shine.
Our curriculum is aligned with the Western Australian standards and is enriched through collaborations with allied health services structured around the individual needs of our learners. We are dedicated to empowering our students as they navigate their changing bodies and learn to stay safe in an ever-evolving world. We also offer explicit teaching of our Core Values which include Care, Organize, Respect and Engage. These align with our WA Positive Behaviour School commitment.
Join us in fostering a community where every student is valued and equipped for success!

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
EVPESC recognize the crucial role that balance, gross-motor movement, and core body strength play in a student’s overall physical coordination and development. Our Physical Education curriculum is designed to embed the three strands; moving our body, understanding movement, and learning through movement. We, EVPESC provide a wide range of opportunities to support these key areas. Through our individualized education plans (IEPs), we tailor specific programs to meet each student’s unique needs, allowing for ongoing monitoring, adaptation, and assessment. Our comprehensive curriculum includes activities such as swimming lessons, PMP sessions, dance through music, physical therapy programs, and various other engaging activities throughout the year, which are all aimed at enhancing physical skills and overall well-being.
TECHNOLOGIES & HOME ECONOMICS - COOKING
At EVPESC we offer all students a combined Technologies and Home Economics Cooking program that immerses them in:

SENSORY
At EVPESC, we actively support all our students’ diverse needs. Our dedicated teams ensure that students’ sensory needs are met throughout the day, enabling them to engage fully in all activities.
We offer a range of tools, methods and strategies, including a sensory room. This calming, supportive space engages students’ senses through light, sound, and tactile experiences. The room helps reduce anxieties, improve focus, and enhance emotional regulation, providing a safe environment for students to explore, relax, and recharge.
In addition to the sensory room, we incorporate sensory tools and structured breaks within the classroom to promote positive sensory development and self-regulation. We aim to promote emotional and social growth, empowering students to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
We also promote sustainability through the use of reusable materials and minimise waste by recycling. Our Containers for Change program further supports these efforts, with all funds raised going toward the upkeep of the garden, and we reduce waste by composting as much as possible.
SUSTAINABILITY & GARDEN PROGRAM
At EVPESC, we take great pride in our expanding Sustainability and Garden program. Our fenced garden features four large beds, two of which are dedicated to growing seasonal fruits and vegetables. This space provides students with the opportunity to engage hands-on in nurturing and caring for the garden.
Students from upper primary classes are the primary caretakers, responsible for maintaining the garden, tidying up, collecting compost bins from each classroom, and harvesting fruits and vegetables. The produce is then used in our Tuck Shop or as part of our Lifeskills and Cooking programs.
Twice a year, we host a Working Busy Bee event, inviting students, parents, carers, and staff to come together to help refresh and revitalise the garden.
We also promote sustainability through the use of reusable materials and minimise waste by recycling. Our Containers for Change program further supports these efforts, with all funds raised going toward the upkeep of the garden, and we reduce waste by composting as much as possible.
