Community Access Program (CAP)
This is designed to provide opportunities for our students to practise and develop social skills and life skills learned at school. The students are involved in outings which involve walking in the community, road safety, shopping, catching buses/trains, purchasing food and visiting the local service providers.


Treatment & Education of Autistic & related Communication of Handicapped children (TEACCH)
This is a structured program which is used internationally for students with Autism and communication difficulties.
Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
PECS is used also to facilitate communication skills in children with Autism and communication difficulties.


Perceptual Motor Program (PMP)
This Perceptual Motor Program addresses both gross and fine motor skills using a multi-sensory approach. Students rotate through stations in small groups and develop a better understanding of themselves and their environment.
Self - Care
This program helps the children learn about caring for themselves independently and supports the learning of social skills.


Cooking
Cooking classes are conducted weekly. Students go shopping for ingredients, prepare food, learn about cooking hygiene and safety in the kitchen and also practise eating etiquette.
Gardening
Gardening is an ongoing environmental initiative. The students are involved in the planting, weeding, watering and general maintenance of the garden. Herbs and vegetables grown are used in the weekly cooking classes. Our worm farm juice is also used to fertilise plants.


Health and Well Being
This program incorporates elements of the following programs – road safety, PMP, boundary training, sport, fitness and cooking healthy foods.
Music specialist program
The centre employs a specialist music teacher who delivers fun, energetic lessons which incorporate speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.
