Technologies and Home Economics – Cooking

At EVPESC we offer all students a combined Technologies and Home Economics Cooking program that immerses them in:

– Hygiene: Teaching crucial hygiene practices, such as washing hands before and after handling food. – Kitchen Safety: Instructing students on the safe use of kitchen utensils and equipment – Sensory Learning: Encouraging students to explore and understand their sensory preferences by engaging in activities like smelling, touching, tasting and enjoying the meals they prepare. – Motor Skills: Developing fine motor skills through tasks such as stirring, flipping, and opening containers. – Social Skills: Enhancing social skills by promoting turn-taking, asking for help and expressing preferences.

Upper primary students participate in ‘tuckshop’ where they take weekly orders and bake yummy snacks such as biscuits and scones.
